The launch of SPUT’s 30th Anniversary Scholarship Campaign to raise dollars to enable all kids and teens to participate in SPUT tennis, education, leadership and employment programs is coming soon! We invite you to be part of our team effort to support youth who need physical activity, connection with other kids, and additional learning and leadership opportunities more than ever. Stay tuned for how to participate!
Register for our summer A.C.E. Camps!
Academic Creative Engagement (A.C.E.) Camps integrate tennis with fun off-court math, science, literacy, and creative expression activities to inspire kids to develop a love of learning. The week-long camps are offered for youth ages 5-12 at eight different court sites across Saint Paul. Learn from our A.C.E. curriculum infused with SPUT S.P.I.R.I.T (service, perseverance, integrity, responsibility, imagination, teamwork)!

SPUT Programming Updates
Employment PLUS
SPUT’s local Twin Cities partner, Her Next Play, recently led a virtual workshop for our Employment PLUS students! The students acted as an employer hiring a marketing position. They evaluated pitches, resumes, answers to interview questions, and social media pages. After each evaluation, they eliminated a candidate that did not meet their criteria. At the end of the workshop they offered the job to a candidate they felt did the best overall. The students learned from an employers’ perspective and received a playbook on tips to stand out in the
hiring process.
Warrior Leadership Academy
Our Warrior Leadership Academy is coming to a close at the end of March. The high school students persevered through multiple shutdowns and continued to improve their tennis skills, connect and build relationships via zoom, and serve their communities with volunteer hours. The students also partook in SPUT’s first time incorporating the Discover U mentoring program! Through the Discover U curriculum the Warriors learned about the “superpowers” of discovery, clarity, self-awareness, action, choice, belief, compassion, direction, commitment, visualization, and intention. A mentor conversation and story were paired with each superpower to engage the students and give them real-life examples (many of whom were SPUT staff and alumni’s stories).
SPUT Alumni
SPUT was excited to host the first of many workshops for our alumni. We want to prioritize helping our alumni launch as leaders in their transition from school to career! Our first workshop was with St. Paul College Customized Training Representative, Drew Hamilton. Alumni learned about the opportunities that come with learning a
skilled trade.
