SPUT Before or After School Tennis Programs
During the Fall and Spring months, SPUT would like to set up before or after school tennis programs at elementary and middle schools across Saint Paul. These programs can be done outside or inside.
If you are interested or have a child/children that would like to be involved in before or after school tennis, we are looking for parent volunteers to help us reach the best contact or contacts at your child/children's school. (It might be the school principal or head PE instructor)
Participating schools will receive tennis nets, balls and racquets through a partnership with the USTA.
We like to start with a school assembly for the entire school to introduce the kids to tennis.Tony Sintlgey from the USTA usually does the fun and interactive assembly.
We also can provide a school program for PE Teachers that they can use in their classes. (This involves using tennis stations and all supplies are provided)
There is no fee for the assembly or teacher program.
We also would like to set up a before or after school tennis program so the kids can enjoy and learn this great sport. We would like atleast 6 players - there is a small fee but scholarships are available.
We encourage all schools to particpate in all 3 events/progams but any or all may be selected.

Tennis is a fantastic acitivity, and we are anxious to start more before or after school programs in 2010 and 2011.
