SPUT Forges Close Partnerships with Saint Paul Government, Businesses and Community Organizations

From its beginning in 1991 Saint Paul Urban Tennis has created alliances with many different organizations, including the city, county, other non-profit organizations, small businesses and large corporations.  All are vital to our success and play a role in creating a livable Saint Paul community.

It Takes a Village

It truly does take a village to raise a child and Saint Paul is a great place to grow up. The mayor and local government agencies are true supporters of youth development programming and key partners for SPUT.

City of Saint Paul -- SPUT has developed a rich and deep relationship with the City of Saint Paul over the past 20+ years. Our partnership gives SPUT a place to call home, through utilizing city facilities, such as tennis court sites, recreation centers, and storage space.  The City of Saint Paul is a vital partner in our mission to transform lives through tennis and was a catalyst to our initial growth and success.

Ramsey County -- Like the city, the county's support is critical to the work we do.  Without it's initial support, SPUT would not have grown into the organization it is today.

Saint Paul Schools -- SPUT coaches run after-school tennis programs at several local schools each year and we offer player clinics and teacher workshops to promote tennis in physical education and introduce after-school kids clubs.  SPUT tennis equipment is made available for school programming and we work with local teachers to secure grants for additional supplies.

Sprockets  - Sprockets is Saint Paul's Out of School (OST) time network, supporting the quality, availability, and effectiveness of OST programming provided through partner organizations.  We are proud to be part of the network, benefitting from the tools and training provided that include a shared database and Youth Program Quality Assessment tool.

Saint Paul Public Libraries -- We support the SPPL summer reading program and encourage all of our tennis players to pick up a reading log at their local branch each summer.  We are grateful to have the support of several library locations in promoting our tennis programming each spring.

Supporting Local Business

We are grateful for the support of local businesses and companies, whether it be through a flyer in a store window or providing in-kind donations.  Return the love by supporting these fine establishments.
